Seth Kaufman is a Managing Director with Kaufman & Company. Prior
to joining Kaufman & Company in 2002, Mr. Kaufman was a Senior
Vice President at First Albany Capital, where he was responsible for
mergers and acquisitions, equity underwritings, and private
placements primarily in the communications and software sectors.
Selected transactions include a strategic advisory for NEC Business
Network Solutions, a subsidiary of NEC America, Inc, in connection
with multiple acquisitions in the network services industry; a
private placement advisory for a communications software vendor in
connection with a strategic investment by Microsoft; and public
equity offerings for Natural Microsystems ($185 million), Information
Advantage ($25 million) and Evergreen Solar ($45 million).
Prior to First Albany Capital, Mr. Kaufman spent 5 years in the
information technology industry as a consultant for Computer Sciences
Corporation (CSC) and C.W. Costello & Associates. Mr. Kaufman
holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from
the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business with majors
in Finance and Accounting. In addition, he is a Trustee of the
Huntington Theatre Company and the Advent School, serves on the
Automobile Committee at the Heritage Museum and enjoys snowboarding,
tennis and golf.
